Chaos at City Hall during attempt to table Kidero Ouster Motion

Chaos erupted at City Hall Thursday afternoon after CORD county assembly members roughed up another from Jubilee who was tabling an impeachment motion against Governor Evans Kidero.

The Viwandani Ward representative Samuel Nyangw’ara was heckled and shouted down when he tried to move the motion, sparking chaos in the assembly.

Speaking to reporters, Nyangw’ara however pointed out that his resolve to table an impeachment motion against Kidero is even stronger following the incident which he termed as shocking.

“In fact, I am even more determined. Their attack on me has energized me and I have realized that there is something that they do not want the people of Nairobi to know because if they were brave enough, this guy could have waited to debate this motion because this is a House of rules and procedures,” he said. “This is where members are elected to come and debate not to stop people from debating such kinds of motions.”

He said the motion that had been approved by the assembly speaker Alex Ole Magelo outlines the failings of Kidero and stated that it was time he vacates office.

He was later sneaked out of city hall through the underground parking while alleging a threat to his life which he intended to report to the police.

“I received quite a number of punches and there is a way I feel from those kicks I received but I thank God that I am here to give this information to you today because I was surprised. These people who I was in a scuffle with were close and I noticed from their scent that they were under the influence of something,” he further explained.
