The man identified as Deputy President William Ruto’s brother in court filings by former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru has spoken out, dismissing the allegations as “pure malice”.

Luke Kimutai Samoei told Capital FM News on Thursday that he is not Ruto’s brother.

Overview
Ruto's Communications Secretary David Mugonyi issued a statement saying the Deputy President has no brother by the name Luke Kimutai Samoei and faulted the media for failing to confirm.
Waiguru named several other personalities, including the leader of majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale as having played roles in the NYS scandal.
Duale and Murkomen have both denied the allegations, and instead urged Waiguru to focus on clearing her name instead of politicising the matter.

“I am not the Deputy President’s brother, those are malicious allegations,” he emphasized.

Earlier, Ruto’s Communications Secretary David Mugonyi issued a statement saying the Deputy President has no brother by the name Luke Kimutai Samoei and faulted the media for failing to confirm.

“Note that the Deputy President has no brother by the name Luke Samoei Kimutai as alleged in memos or affidavits and reported in some section of the media,” he said.

During the interview with Capital FM News, Samoei admitted seeking contracts at the National Youth Service (NYS) which he did not get and insisted he was not aided by any top Jubilee leader.

“I wanted to sell them (NYS) the pressure pumps and they promised me that later on they will look into it but the thing did not materialize because that is the time the issues of NYS erupted,” he explained while seeking to clarify reports in the court filings by Waiguru who attached a letter naming him as having sought business at NYS with the help of Jubilee leaders.
