About 2.5% of the U.S. population, that is nearly 6 million people suffer from some form of bipolar disorder. And to trace it without the advice of a certified doctor can be an arduous task! Bipolarity is a result of an event that causes sudden loss or after someone goes through a complicated stage in their life such as the death of a close one, failure, disappointment, etc. Here are 7 key signs of having a bipolar disorder:
1. Feeling elated or “high” for a long stretch.
2. Having a decreased need for sleep.
3. Fast-talking, often with racing thoughts.
4. Feeling impulsive or jittery 5. Becoming easily distracted.
6. Having overconfidence.
7. Engaging in risky behaviour.
A complete cure for the disease is complex but adapted treatments, as well as psychiatric care, are effective ways to stabilize and balance the emotions.
