Brazil's Military Opposes Bolsonaro's Base Offer To US

Brazil’s new right-wing President Jair Bolsonaro upset his country's armed forces with recent comments.
Bolsonaro said that he would be open to the U.S. operating a military base on Brazilian soil.
The new president said the base could counter Russian influence in Venezuela.
An anonymous officer said Brazil’s military would not support a U.S. base in the country.
Bolsonaro will reportedly discuss the base offer with US President Donald Trump during a visit to Washington in March.
