Leading US Envoy In Global ISIS Fight Resigns

According to Reuters, Brett McGurk, the U.S. special envoy for the global coalition to defeat ISIS, has submitted his resignation effective December 31. Sources say McGurk quit due to objection over President Donald Trump’s surprise decision to pull out U.S. troops from Syria. McGurk's decision echoes that of U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, who resigned over the move just a couple days before.
