NY Governor Andrew Cuomo Will Seek To Legalize Marijuana

According to Business Insider, legalizing marijuana is one of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's top legislative priorities for 2019. A recent poll shows that 63 percent of New Yorkers favor legalizing pot. In a statement Monday, Cuomo said, "We have had two criminal justice systems: one for the wealthy and well off, and one for everyone else. And that's going to end. Let's legalize the adult use of recreational marijuana, once and for all." It's not yet clear what Cuomo's proposal would look like in terms of business licenses, taxation, and how and where marijuana can be used.
