Teachers Spend An Average Of $500 A Year On School Supplies

According to Business Insider, "A survey released earlier this year showed that 94% of teachers are spending their own money on classroom supplies. Among those surveyed, 7% of teachers spent more than $1,000 on their classrooms during the 2014-2015 school year." They are doing this because they have to supplement their school's budget. On average teachers spend $479 of their own money each year on supplies. Some have even used GoFundMe to help them get what they need.
