The Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer says that the upcoming Budget will demonstrate whether Theresa May's pledge to end austerity is a "promise that's going to be kept or not." The promise John McDonnell was referring to was from the Prime Minister's speech at the Conservative Party Conference earlier in October. The Shadow Chancellor also urged Theresa May to look at the impact that austerity has had on community and put forward the Labour Party's proposals for NHS funding ahead of what he calls "the worst financial crisis this winter in the NHS that we've seen."
