The Trump Tower residential board, with the help of the Trump Organization, is reportedly suing the estate of Todd Brassner, the 67-year-old man who died in April when a fire broke out in his condo.

The Trump Tower residential board, with the help of the Trump Organization, is suing the estate of Todd Brassner, the 67-year-old man who died in April when a fire broke out in his condo, reports the Washington Post. The board is seeking $90,000, which includes unpaid common fees, notes WNBC. "The New York Fire Department has said the fire was accidental and Brassner's apartment did not have a smoke alarm," according to WNBC. "The apartment didn't have sprinklers either, due to a loophole in city regulations applying to high-rise buildings like Trump Tower."  President Trump was criticized by many after the incident for both lobbying in favor of the aforementioned loophole and not expressing condolences when Brassner died.  After the fire started, but before it was extinguished, Trump did tweet, "Fire at Trump Tower is out. Very confined (well built building). Firemen (and women) did a great job. THANK YOU!"
