Pelosi: Trump's Border Wall Push Seems To Be A 'Manhood Issue' For Him

Nancy Pelosi took at jab at President Trump over the border wall issue.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday called President Trump's insistence on a U.S.-Mexico border wall a "manhood issue," reports The Hill. When speaking at Harvard University's Institute of Politics, Pelosi was asked what Democrats are willing to accept in exchange for their support of the barrier.  Pelosi said "nothing" and stated, "It's immoral, expensive, ineffective and not something people do between countries. In any event, it happens to be like a manhood issue for the president, and I'm not interested in that."  She also described it as "probably the worst way to protect the border."  Pelosi did note that, while the wall issue is non-negotiable, Democrats are open to working with the president on infrastructure, notes the Washington Post. It's not expected that Trump will drop the wall matter, as it was one of his key 2016 campaign promises.  Notably, it is expected to be a key topic of debate leading up to the December 7 deadline for funding the Department of Homeland Security, which has jurisdiction over such border measures.
