President Trump on Monday thanked former NFL player Jim Brown for his recently-voiced support.
President Trump on Monday thanked former NFL player Jim Brown for his recently-voiced support.
"Thank you to the great @JimBrownNFL32, perhaps the greatest running back of all time, for your wonderful words and support," Trump tweeted. "Since our meeting in New York, African-American UNEMPLOYMENT has reached the LOWEST LEVEL IN HISTORY. You get it!"
Brown made his Trump-related comment last week during an interview on Fox Sports Radio's 'JT The Brick' show.
"I should be criticizing Trump on every level because he does certain things that call for criticism," Brown said. "But when I look at television I see all these announcers become experts...and they're not doing a doggone thing but pointing their fingers, I find myself really pulling for the president."
Trump has touted about black employment numbers repeatedly during his presidency.
"I am proud to have fought for and secured the LOWEST African American and Hispanic unemployment rates in history. Now I'm pushing for prison reform to give people who have paid their debt to society a second chance. I will never stop fighting for ALL Americans!" Trump tweeted on August 11.
