Joe D. Quit Hiding and Come Debate!

Hi, my name is John Jay Arena and I’m the Jobs and Equal Rights for All candidate for Essex County Executive. I issue a challenge to my opponent Joseph DiVincenzo, better known as Joe D. or as we like to call him Deportation Joe. Joe D. stop hiding and come and debate the central issue of this campaign: the ICE concentration camp that you run for Donald Trump at the Essex County jail in Newark, NJ.

When Deportation Joe negotiated the ICE contract in 2010 he celebrated the money it would bring in explaining that “It would mean huge revenue for the county. It would be a home run.” Now, under Trump, the amount of money he hauls in has gone up by 50%.

“Hey, hey Joe D. let the immigrants run free!”

Despite a growing movement demanding an end to the contract with ICE, and the closure of the concentration camp, Joe D. is nowhere to be found.

“Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo’s office has not replied to NJTV News’ request for comment.”

Abraham Lincoln said 160 years ago “A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free.” The Jobs and Equal Rights for All campaign is part of the New Abolitionist movement that aims to abolish ICE and the entire unconstitutional immigration system. We see the ICE concentration camp in Essex County, and those around the country, as a threat to the rights of all just as slavery was. And just as the 19th century abolitionists did, we challenge our opponent Joseph DiVincenzo to debate the ICE contract, the central issue of our day.
