Face-Biting Parasite Is Chomping Its Way Across America

Chagas disease is a nasty parasitic illness spread by bites from bloodsucking triatomine bugs.
These bugs climb on people's faces at night to feed, biting eyes and lips,
According to Business Insider, that's why they're sometimes called "kissing bugs."
The American Heart Association says doctors need to do a better job recognizing the disease.
That's because it's becoming more common in the US and Europe.
In the US, there are at least 11 species of triatomine bugs, some of which transmit Chagas.
