OpenEMR assists with storing records, handling schedules and billing patients. These severe vulnerabilities left the personal info of 90 million patients exposed. 18 of the bugs were designated with high severity. That means hackers could easily access the data in medical systems without much effort. Patches have been released to users and cloud customers. According to researchers at Project Insecurity, it was also flawed before a recent audit recommended a range of vital fixes. The open source software is used by medical facilities around the world.
