Japanese-American singer-songwriter Mitski is set to release her fifth studio album ‘Be the Cowboy’ this year. “Nobody” dropped in June as the album’s second single. The track was produced by Patrick Hyland, who was also behind the boards for Mitski’s ‘Puberty 2’ and ‘Bury Me At Makeout Creek’ albums. On the song, Mitski finds herself as vulnerable as ever, singing about alienation and loneliness.

It's still REALLY weird how similar they sing "nobody" over and over in both songs. Love them both.

I came here to see if Nina Simone's Nobody was an inspiration. Guess not. Being lonely is such a universal feeling.
