‘Black Widow’ Finally Has a Director After a search of over a year and a half, Cate Shortland will be the director of the standalone film. Marvel met with over 70 directors. Shortland directed the Nazi drama, ‘Lore,’ and was personally backed by Scarlett Johansson. This will be the second Marvel movie that is directed by a woman.
