Thailand Cave Rescue
to Get Dueling
Hollywood Treatment Faith-based production house Pure Flix announced they will be turning the daring rescue into a film. The company was behind the 2014-2018 God's Not Dead trilogy. But that announcement didn't sit well with 'Crazy Rich Asians' director, Jon M. Chu. Concerned about 'white washout' of the story, Chu has announced he's developing his own film with Ivanhoe Pictures. A soccer team of 12 children and their adult coach were stranded in a cave complex by monsoon rains for 18 days. Rescue seemed unlikely but a massive Thai effort was successful, and all 13 emerged from the cave alive. In addition to the films, Discovery has fast-tracked a documentary which will air on the Discovery Channel on July 13.
