Sunday Guardian Exclusive: Opposisition plans to oppose triple talaq bill passed by the Lok sabha

After a total of 250 working hours were wasted & the Lok Sabha functioned for just 21% of its alloted work time due to frequent disruptions during the last budget session. As an exclusive story by Sunday Guardian expose the opposisition's plan to oppose the triple talaq bill passed by the Lok sabha on Dec 28, making instant talaq illegal. According to sources the Congress, will seek amendments, claiming the bill has several loopholes and is expected to press for sending the bill to a Select Committee. As the NDA doesn't have a majority in Rajya Sabha the Oppn plans to corner the govt in bringing ammendments in the same. Several opposition parties including the Biju Janata Dal, AIADMK, Trinamool Congress and RJD had opposed to the bill and abstained from voting in the lok sabha .
