According to sources the Congress, will seek amendments, claiming the bill has several loopholes and is expected to press for sending the bill to a Select Committee. As the NDA doesn't have a majority in Rajya Sabha the Oppn plans to corner the govt in bringing ammendments in the same. Several opposition parties including the Biju Janata Dal, AIADMK, Trinamool Congress and RJD had opposed to the bill and abstained from voting in the lok sabha .
