Istanbul Police Violently Put An End To PRIDE March

According to CNN, hundreds of people defied a Turkish government ban to take part in a Pride Parade in Istanbul on Sunday before it was broken up by police. Activists and marchers from the LGBTQ communities celebrated in the city center with singing and dancing for around 40 minutes before police forcefully dispersed the group using tear gas. This is the fourth year in a row that authorities have banned the celebration, which in previous years had drawn crowds in the tens of thousands.
