The World Health Organization has now classified a 'gaming disorder' as a mental health condition.
According to UPI, the WHO announced the classification along with the United Nation's health agency.
The organization added it will add 'extreme video game playing' as a condition in the 11th edition of the International Classification of Diseases manual.
According to the new manual, 'gaming disorder' is characterized by a pattern of persistent gaming that takes precedence over other daily activities.
But Dr. Vladimir Poznyak with the WHO's Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse told CNN that the number of diagnosed cases is very low.
