BRE CONFIRMS POLITICAL SHIFT OF BAROTSELAND TO PF

The Barotse Royal Establishment through their Representative Induna Meimanene yesterday thanked President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and his administration for revamping the once failed Cashew nut project in the Province.
Addressing the audience that had turned out to witness the President's launch of the specialized Cashew nut spraying at Simbulumbe Cashew nut plantation, Induna Meimanene said that the Traditional leadership recognized him as the President of Zambia, Western Province inclusive.
The Induna further assured the President of the BRE's total cooperation in ensuring that the Cashew nut project was a success for the betterment of Western Province. He informed the President that the entire Barotse leadership was behind him and his government.
Induna Meimanene also confirmed that the political fortunes of the PF in the province was on the rise. He said that what happened in Lealui which is the headquarters of the BRE was a clear indication that there was some transformation and a change of heart, that the City itself of Barotseland has now shifted to render even political support to the President and his government.
The Cashew nut project in Western Province was first initiated by President Kenneth Kaunda in the 1980s, however was abandoned along the way. President Lungu and Vice President Inonge Wina took interest in the project in 2016 and decided to revamp it. President Lungu has vowed that he will embrace the good works and projects initiated by all former Presidents
