Mint Juleps with Maker's Mark

Do you mint julep? Now I do! After attending a Maker's Mark Mint Julep class, taught by Will Benedetto, my mint juleps are on point. It's a simple cocktail... easy to make that pleases the senses. It's also the perfect drink to add to your spring/summer rotation. Cheers!

Will’s Classic Mint Julep

3 parts Maker's Mark

½ part Demerara Simple Syrup

6-8 mint leaves

Depending on size pluck 6-8 mint leaves and toss them into a julep cup. Next add Maker's Mark and simple syrup into the julep cup. Then gently muddle the mint leaves to release the oils and fragrances into the cocktail. Fill the cup half way with crush ice and briefly stir. Fill the cup all the way with ice, insert a metal or paper straw into the cup, garnish with a sprig of mint and enjoy.
