KARACHI: Residents of the metropolis received on Saturday some respite from the scorching weather as the sea breeze blew through the city, neutralizing hot and dry weather after the mercury soared past 40 degrees Celsius during the last two days.

According to the Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD), the sea breeze brought the mercury down today after two straight days of heatwave.

A weather department official said the sea breeze will continue to blow in the next 24 hours while the minimum and maximum temperatures in the city will remain at 27 and 38 degrees Celsius, respectively.

He said humidity in the sea breeze was recorded to be 51 per cent.
