The 9th annual Big Bear Lake International Film Festival is proud to announce its acceptance of “The Call” helmed by the Festival’s oldest first-time director! At 60, Linda Bergman, veteran TV writer and producer (“ A Father’s Son:The Michael Landon Story,” “Almost Golden: The Jessica Savitch Story” and “Matters Of The Heart” had always wanted to direct – and so she went back to school and completed the 8 minute short as her student film.

“This piece is about a teenaged girl who has to make the toughest phone call of her life, was inspired by my own daughter and many of her friends who went through a challenging young adulthood.” Says Bergman. She hopes it touches broken families and maybe inspires better communication between generations.
The little film with a big ending, has an all-star cast. Colleen Flynn (“Clear And Present Danger”, “Pay It Forward”); Stephen Hornyak (“Boston Legal”, “X Files”, “E.R.”; Michelle Mais,( “Trading Places”, “Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead”), and introduces star-to-be Georgia Godfrey.
