5 - Time Stands Still \r
This piece tells a story, time is running out for the creature known as the bumble bee and as a brilliant man once said, if the bee dies so shall man as well, this piece of art imbued into skin and ink seems to work as a warning as well as a stunning piece of human canvas artwork. The line and collection of black, grey and white gives the pocket watch real flair and seems to pop out of the skin with 3-D imagery. And that butterfly poking out of the left corner is truly remarkable and beautiful, but its that bee drenched in color at the top which reflects against the cool metal of the watch which really sets this piece alive. The artist, Niki Norberg, hails from Sweden and prefers to work with realism with high levels of detail and clear contrast, as clearly evidenced in this gorgeous piece. \r

Frida was an amazing Mexican artist who suffered greatly from a bus accident she found herself in when she was only 18, this woman is absolutely inspiring, she taught herself to paint with her feet, she was intelligent and held her own against men of power and intellect at a time when women were thought of as less than human. And this stunning portrait seems to capture her spirit, her essence her very soul. Those hardened eyes, that unmistakable unibrow, even those tiny whiskers of moustache hairs protruding from her lower lip. A stunning absolutely divine representation of one of my all-time favorite artists, and shes not even complete! That purple headband of hers still needs coloring in, but the piece is so magnificent it seemed necessary to include it. Since its an incomplete piece heres a snapshot of a completed tattoo by this devastatingly realistic tattoo master, behold Johnny Cash! And now, stand back, its Johnny Depp as John Waters charer Cry Baby! Michelle Pfeiffer killed it in her portrayal of Catwoman in the Tim Burton Gothic inspired film, Batman Returns and this piece of flesh art kills it as well. As does this strikingly beautiful image of skin art which is of the one and only Pretty Sailor Soldier, Sailor Moon! Two of my absolute favorite things from childhood, my eyes are overjoyed and have fallen in love with this world recognised tattoo artist. This amazingly talented artist of skin, flesh, ink and color hails from California and is the owner of Black Anchor Collective tattoo shop. The biography reads, I couldnt have dreamed I would have the experiences that Ive had and all the great people that Ive met because of tattooing and for that I am truly grateful. Swoon!
