Trump Endorses Mitt Romney for Utah Senate President Trump vocalized his support for Romney's bid for a seat in Utah's Senate on Twitter. Romney and Trump initially got off on a bad note with Romney calling Trump a "phony" and "fraud" in 2016. Romney officially announced he is running for Senate on Friday. He previously served as Massachusetts governor from 2003 to 2007.
