Talk show host Bill Maher slammed President Trump on Friday in the wake of the indictments against Russian nationals.

In response to the indictments against Russian nationals for meddling in U.S. elections, talk show host Bill Maher slammed President Trump on Friday and called him a "traitor."
Addressing the Trump voters, Maher said on his HBO show 'Real Time with Bill Maher,' "What is left for you? He's plainly a traitor, who doesn't defend his own country."
"These Trump supporters, they're not conservatives," Maher also commented. "They're Drew Barrymore in '50 First Dates.' If you lose your memory every night it all starts to make sense."
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced the indictments on Friday.
"The indictment charges thirteen Russian nationals and three Russian companies for committing federal crimes while seeking to interfere in the United States political system, including the 2016 Presidential election," the Justice Department noted in a news release. "The defendants allegedly conducted what they called 'information warfare against the United States,' with the stated goal of 'spread[ing] distrust towards the candidates and the political system in general.'"
Shortly after the announcement, President Trump took to Twitter and posted his response.
"Russia started their anti-US campaign in 2014, long before I announced that I would run for President. The results of the election were not impacted. The Trump campaign did nothing wrong - no collusion!" Trump wrote.
Commenting on the indictments, the former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told CNN that he's alarmed by Trump's "indifference" to Russia's meddling in the election.
"The president, and his singular indifference to this, really imperils our country," Clapper said. "To me, that transcends whether there was collusion or not."
