Rode Videomic Pro Test w/ Canon 7D

An audio test using the Rode Video Mic Pro with my camera, the Canon 7d. \r

I made this to test different settings to see which produces the best quality audio the way I would be using it. \r

The recommended settings ( +20DB, high pass filter on, 4 ticks on camera ) seemed to sound the best but it was quieter than I thought. I always needed to boost the audio up while editing. \r

I thought it might be broken so I returned it and got a full refund. \r

I do not believe the Rode Video Mic Pro is bad, Ive come to the conclusion that there might have been a bad batch gotten a faulty one. \r

Im thinking about re-buying the mic from a more trusted seller but let me know what you think before I decide. Please give me any recommendations if you have any better than this mic. \r

Overall, Ive heard this mic is great, again maybe I had a faulty one but until i get the second mic I cant say that the mic is bad. \r

*This is the audio straight out of the camera. I did not tamper with it once so ever in post. \r
