Donald Trump Cancelled His Trip to London and Blamed It on Obama The president confirmed on Thursday that he was cancelling his trip, originally planned for next month. The plan to move the embassy actually started in 2008, prior to Obama's tenure as president. Trump's cancellation comes amid multiple reports from the British media that the White House is worried about mass protests surrounding his potential visit. British Prime Minister Theresa May had originally invited Trump to visit last year when she was visiting the White House.
