In "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" Kylo Ren and Rey had many intimate moments where they used the force to communicate with one another. But in order to create that intimacy the actors themselves had to work hard to make it seem realistic. This is why Rian Johnson always had the other actor not in the scene be off screen, even if that meant to travel to another country. For example when Ridley did her scenes in Ireland, Driver was flown over to Ireland to be off screen for those shots.
