McKayla Maroney has filed a lawsuit against the USA Gymnastics Organization and other defendants for attempting to silence her about the years of alleged sexual abuse she endured at the hands of disgraced Dr. Larry Nassar, Radaronline.com can confirm.

According to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by Radar, Maroney, now 22, claimed attorneys for the USA Gymnastics Organization struck a deal with her in 2016 to keep her quiet about the abuse to the public — which she now alleged was illegal.

In addition, the gold-medal gymnast claimed USA Gymnastics "failed" to remove Nassar from his position as the official team physician, even though they allegedly knew about his depraved acts against young patients.

"During the period McKayla Maroney was being sexually abused and harassed by Nassar, Defendants had the authority and ability to prevent such abuse by removing Nassar from his position as team physician at Team USA, USAG and in his status with the USOC. They failed to do so, allowing the abuse to occur and to continue unabated," the legal documents stated.

"Plaintiff is informed and believes and on that basis, alleges that this failure was a part of Defendants' conspiratorial plan and arrangement to conceal Nassar’s wrongful acts, to avoid and inhibit detection, to block public disclosure, to avoid scandal, to avoid the disclosure of their tolerance of child sexual molestation and abuse, to preserve a false appearance of propriety, and to avoid investigation and action by public authority including law enforcement."

The lawsuit went into disturbing detail of the sexual abuse that allegedly took place one night when Maroney was just 15 years old.

is still coping with years later.

"To this day McKayla Maroney is petrified of Nassar and does not trust medical providers, and suffers from intrusive, repeated thoughts and memories of the horrific abuse she suffered as a minor gymnast competing for her country," the lawsuit stated. "His abuse even occurred the evening before her Olympic competitions."

In addition, the lawsuit revealed Nassar's obsession with Maroney, and his habit of "compulsively photographing" the gymnast.

spoke out publicly against Dr. Nassar for the first time.

“For me, the scariest night of my life happened when I was 15 years old," Maloney wrote in her Instagram account. "I had flown all day and night with the team to get to Tokyo. He'd given me a sleeping pill for the flight, and the next thing I know, I was all alone with him in his hotel room getting a 'treatment.' I thought I was going to die that night.”

"He abused my trust, abused my body and left scars on my psyche that may never heal," Maroney added. "Larry Nassar deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison."

On December, Nassar was sentenced to the maximum sentence of 60 years in prison on child pornography charges.

He is currently being tried for over 125 sexual assault allegations from the US gymnastics team.

Nassar, 54, will be sentenced January 31 in Michigan on 10 counts of first-degree criminal sexual misconduct. He pleaded guilty to these charges in November.
