The US Pacific Fleet published aerial footage on November 12 that was described as showing part of what the US Navy described as a “rare” maritime exercise involving three aircraft carriers. The USS Ronald Reagan, USS Nimitz, and USS Theodore Roosevelt all took part in the exercise, which was said to have occurred in the Western Pacific Ocean, along with a number of vessels from the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force.“It is a rare opportunity to train with two aircraft carriers together, and even rarer to be able to train with three,” said U.S. Pacific Fleet Commander, Adm. Scott Swift, in a post about the exercise. “Multiple carrier strike force operations are very complex, and this exercise in the Western Pacific is a strong testament to the US Pacific Fleet’s unique ability and ironclad commitment to the continued security and stability of the region.” Credit: Twitter/U.S. Pacific Fleet via Storyful
