President Trump advocated for a more armed Japan in order to protect itself from North Korea's threats. “The prime minister of Japan is going to be purchasing massive amounts of military equipment, as he should.” Donald Trump said the joint news conference in Tokyo While Japan already buys military equipment from the U.S. Shinzo Abe agreed that Japan needs "to enhance [its] defense capability."
