Trump names Jerome Powell new Fed chair

President Trump officially tapped
Jerome Powell to head the Federal Reserve. Powell has been a member of the Fed’s board of governors since 2012 and has typically voted with departing chairwoman Janet Yellen. He was part of a pool of candidates that also included ex-Governor Kevin Warsh, Stanford economist John Taylor, chief Trump economic advisor Gary Cohn, as well as Yellen herself.
