But his first film to hit theatres in the wake of the sexual harassment and abuse scandal surrounding him has flopped.
Majorly.
Are the stories to blame or was this already bound to happen? Hard to say but Amityville: The Awakening made just $742 dollars over the weekend.
And that would be more bad news for his troubled company.
A number of projects have been cancelled after the Weinstein story broke and the company’s financial future faces uncertainty.
Especially when his movies are only making less than a thousand dollars at the box office.
Amityville: The Awakening stars Bella Thorne and it’s a spinoff from the highly successful original 1979 Amityville horror film. The movie also only scored 20 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, so keep that in mind.
