NAACP issues warning for black passengers flying with American Airlines
  • 6 years ago
The NAACP is warning black passengers of American Airlines' "corporate culture of racial insensitivity and possible racial bias." The group issued an advisory Tuesday night describing four incidents of alleged racism against black fliers. Back in August, they issued a statewide advisory for the first time, cautioning Missouri residents flying with the airline. "Booking and boarding flights on American Airlines could subject them [to] disrespectful, discriminatory or unsafe conditions." An American Airlines spokeswoman disputed the accusations, saying… "Our team members -- a diverse community of gate agents, pilots, and flight attendants -- are proud to serve customers of all backgrounds." The two parties agreed to a meeting with the airline's leadership before an audience at the AA headquarters.
