The New Power Generation (also known as the NPG) where a US band who most famously where the backing band for Prince.
This track by NPG 'The Good Life' was released in 1996 and achieved number 29 in the UK charts. The Dancing Divaz remix of the Good Life proved a big hit in the house club scene.
Dancing Divaz were popular UK house music producers during the 1990s and several top club tracks recieved the Dancing Divaz remix treatment. Ian Bland who also produced techno tracks under the name 'Dream Frequency' is one half of the Dancing Divaz productions.

The New Power Generation debuted live during the Nude Tour in 1990 and on record on the 1991 album Diamonds and Pearls. The NPG band consisted of holdovers from the Nude Tour: Michael Bland (drums), Levi Seacer, Jr. (guitar), Rosie Gaines (keyboards and backing vocals), Tony M. (lead raps and dancing), Kirk Johnson (percussion and dancing) and Damon Dickson (dancing), along with two new members Tommy Barbarella (keyboards) and Sonny T. (bass). Rosie Gaines left the The New Power Generation after the Diamonds and Pearls Tour and was replaced by keyboardist Morris Hayes. In 1996, longstanding NPG members Michael Bland, Tommy Barbarella and Sonny T. were fired and a refreshed the New Power Generation line up was formed for touring. Guitarists Kat Dyson and Mike Scott, along with bassist Rhonda Smith joined Morris Hayes and Kirk Johnson, who re-joined the NPG to play drums
