Exclusive: Islamic State 'government complex found in Hatla village

A so-called Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) 'government' building complex was seized by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the recently retaken Syrian village of Hatla Al-Sharqiyah, on Wednesday.

Inside the complex were buildings used for policing and a court.

Also found was IS' currency, and numerous documents related the running of the group's territory, including the ID cards of the people arrested by the organisation.

After years under IS occupation, the SAA and Russian Air Force regained control of the village, east of the Euphrates River, in the Deir ez-Zor Province on Tuesday.
