The Pittsburgh Steelers won the AFC North last season with a 10-6 record but were eliminated in the playoffs by Jacksonville at home during wildcard weekend. Schedule: The Steelers have the toughest schedule in the NFL this season. 14 of their 16 opponents had winning records in 2007. As division winners last season they must face first place San Diego and New England while the other 3 teams in their division wont face them. The Steelers need to get a good start to the season because wins late will be harder to come by. Offense: Big Ben Roethlisberger is coming off his first pro bowl season as he passed for 32 touchdowns last season. The Steelers locked up their starting quarterback by giving him at $102 million dollar contract for the next 8 years. The offensive line must do a better job of protecting him as Big Ben was sacked 47 times last season. They will be without Pro Bowl guard Alan Faneca who was lost through free agency.
