80 percent drop in new HIV cases reported in Europe

Will Europe be the first place to see zero HIV diagnoses? That's what doctors believe after 56 Dean Street in Central London had a recorded 80 percent drop in new HIV diagnoses over two year period. Back in 2015, the clinic saw 72 diagnoses a month, but as of September 2017, there were only 11. Successful treatment has been shown to prevent transmission to sexual partners and there is excellent data showing that people with an undetectable viral load under treatment cannot transmit HIV. Dr. Nneka Nwokolo, consult at NHS Foundation Trust Health bosses in the UK also give credit to the daily HIV-prevention pill PrEP.
