Here's The REALLY Exclusive Coverage Of Cirrus Design's First Jet Test Flight ANN had THE seat to the historic first flight of Cirrus Design's personal jet prototype, July 3rd, 2008. Not content to use the same generic pool video available to one and all, ANN put a team in Duluth, Minnesota for most of the week prior to the aircraft's first flight... with unparalleled access to the design team build crew, test pilots, and the management team that conceived this 21st century jet plane. ANN produced the first news and pix of the first flight to be offered anywhere in the world (even using our news Aero-Twitter" features within seconds of the takeoff!) and assigned one of its very best videographers, and E-I-C Jim Campbell, to oversee this important assignment -- on site. This is the first of a number of expertly produced programs that will detail this jet program as extensively as we have profiled all the other players in this growing market -- aided by the (always welcome) fact that Cirrus remains one of the most approachable and amicable companies to work with, in our professional experience... which ultimately contributes to the production of truly exceptional programming. The first flight of 'The Jet' came about after extensive research and careful preparation. Blasting off at approximately 0945 CDT, the 45-minute flight was conducted from company worldwide headquarters at the Duluth International Airport, in Duluth, MN. The aircraft, as attested by this video and the interviews we conducted of the design and test team proved that the aircraft performed tremendously well. Cirrus notes that 'The-Jet' is an all new personal aircraft that blends the best of both the high performance single-engine class and the very light jet (VLJ) category. Unsurpassed interior space, single engine fuel efficiency, flexible seating options for a family of up to seven, state-of-the-art advanced avionics and flight systems and the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) are each hallmarks of the new design. ...
