How To Make TAKIS: Remake Video

For those of you who love this little red, fried corn snack with a hint of lime here is a remake video that is just that!\r
\r
\r
Recipe:\r
1 cup masa flour\r
1/2 teaspoon sugar\r
between 1/2 cup and 2/3 cup water dyed red\r
lime juice, fill just under the 2/3 cup line\r
Tabasco, several dashes\r
1 teaspoon salt\r
4 cups vegetable oil\r
\r
Takis Seasoning:\r
1/2 teaspoon chili powder\r
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper\r
1/2 teaspoon ancho chili pepper\r
1/2 teaspoon onion powder\r
1 tablespoon chili-lime rub\r
1 teaspoon salt\r
Preheat oil to medium-high heat in a large pan.\r
Before you make your little tortillas mix together your seasoning mix first, then set it aside. \r
In a medium size bowl, mix flour, sugar, water, tabasco, salt and lime juice together until mixture forms a ball. Pitch off small portions and roll into a small ball; a little bigger than a marble. \r
Take 2 plates that are totally flat on the bottom and flip one of them over. Place a long piece of plastic wrap over flipped plate (this side will be the bottom). Take one of your rounds, put it on the plastic wrap and fold the plastic over it. Take the other plate, bottom side facing down and press firmly to flatten the ball into a small tortilla. Do this for all of your rounds, roll-up each tortilla into a little pencil like cylinder. \r
Place Takis into hot oil and fry for 3 minutes. Then drain on a paper lined plate. While still hot toss in seasoning mix.\r
Devour!\r
