Pete's latest project is reenacting the journey made by seven Cornishmen 154 years ago, who sailed from Cornwall to Australia in a 37ft lugger to join in with the Australian gold rush. Pete and three other crew members (consisting of, his brother-in-law, younger brother and son –who will be just 14 years old) are setting sail this October. The journey will be as near to the original sail as possible from the way the boat has been constructed and designed, down to how the crew will navigate. No engine will be used, nor will any navigational equipment – this will be done by the stars! The launch was held at Millbrook in Plymouth on the 21st June 2008.
