Fighting between rebels and Syrian regime near Damascus

Syrian rebel fighters from the Faylaq al-Rahman brigade are fighting Syrian regime forces in Ain Tarma, in the eastern Ghouta area, a rebel stronghold east of the capital Damascus. Earlier in the week air strikes pummeled rebel-held parts of the Jobar district of Damascus and the adjacent district of Ain Tarma. Eastern Ghouta is one of four "de-escalation zones" announced in May by opposition backer Turkey and regime allies Iran and Russia after talks in Kazakhstan.
