Fuselage it the main body or structure of
the aircraft. It provides spaces for
passengers, cargo, equipments, controls,
accessories and sometimes also houses the
powerplant. It also provide attachment
points for the wings, horizontal stabilizers
and vertical stabilizers.

Types of Aircraft Fuselage

#1. Truss type - Truss type is a rigid framework of
members such as beams, struts and
bars to resist deformation by
applied loads; and is generally
covered with fabrics

Type of truss:
(a) Pratt truss
(b) Warren truss

#2. Monocoque - Monocoque type relies
largely on the strength of
the skin or covering to
carry the primary
stresses

Type of monocoque:
(a) True monocoque
(b) Semimonocoque
(c) Reinforced cell
