Fox River in Illinois Forecasted to Reach Record Flood Level

The Fox River in Algonquin, Illinois, was forecast to crest at a record level of 12.9 feet on Tuesday, July 18, after having risen two feet above flood stage the previous Friday.If the river crests at the forecasted level, it would be slightly above the record of 12.7 feet set in 2013.McHenry County officials have declared a state of emergency, and Gov. Bruce Rauner declared McHenry, Lake and Kane counties disaster areas because of the flooding. The flooding was triggered by a storm that started on July 11.
