Fox News Founder Roger Ailes dead at 77

Former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes passed away Thursday morning at age 77, his family said in a statement. Alies founded Fox News in 1996 and turned it into one of the biggest networks in cable news and right-wing American politics. He stepped down in 2016 amid sexual assault allegations. Prior to creating Fox News, he was an aide to President Richard Nixon in 1970 and prepared a 300-paged memo titled, "A Plan for Putting the GOP on TV News." the statement said.
