Footage has emerged from China of two commuters rescuing an elderly man after he fell down on an escalator.

The CCTV video, captured in Nanning, Guangxi Province on May 7, shows the elderly man losing his balance and falling down.

Then, a woman can be seen running to help him up as her husband presses the button to stop the escalator.

The elderly man was sent to hospital.
