Sinkhole Adds to Atlanta Roadway Troubles

A sinkhole opened on an Atlanta street near Georgia Tech on Wednesday, April 19, adding to a litany of problems on the city’s roadways. It was unclear when the road would re-open, a report said.Atlanta’s highways have had a series of problems recently. Earlier this week, a portion of Interstate 20 was shutdown after the roadway buckled. In March, a fire under Interstate 85 caused a portion of the road to collapse. Repair work for I-85 is due to be completed in May.
