The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) banned all street food stalls from the city, leaving a bitter taste for tourists. The BMA ordered all street food vendors to close their shops by the end of the year to prioritize “order and hygiene,” according to city hall. Walop Sunwandee, chief adviser to Bangkok’s governor, stated that all types of stalls including food, clothing, and counterfeit goods will be shut down to return the roads to pedestrians. Bangkok was voted the world's best destination for street food by CNN and was popular with tourist all over.
